Manchester Marathon 2025 Transfers/Withdrawals/Refunds Policy

Considerable effort goes into producing an event such as the Manchester Marathon. From the moment we receive your entry we expend funds and apply them in good faith in relation to your entry. These costs include fees to our payment processing provider, products for goody bags and prizes, venue hire time, and general staffing costs- for example, a significant amount of administration and practical work also starts the moment you enter and continues up until, and even after an event.

With respect to any request for a race transfer, withdrawal, and/or refund, we will implement the following policy: This policy has been created in fairness to all the event competitors so that equal opportunity exists for registering for the Manchester Marathon. There are no race day registrations or race day transfers for the Manchester Marathon, even if a registered athlete is a "no show" and a slot is available. This policy has been implemented in fairness to all other competitors who registered for the event, to ensure that events start on time, for legal and safety considerations, and for event management.

Refunds: If you notify us via email within 14 days of the original order, a full refund (less the booking fee) will be provided. All withdrawals must be done by contacting us via our contact page.

Withdrawals: A withdrawal from the Manchester Marathon can be made at any time prior to the event. Please let us know of your withdrawal in writing as soon as possible via our contact page.

Defer your entry to Manchester Marathon 2026: Between the 1^st November 2024 and the 12^th February 2025 you can defer your entry to the following year’s marathon for a fee of £30 (please note if you defer your entry before the 31st December 2025 you can defer your entry for a reduced fee of £20). A race deferral moves your adidas Manchester Marathon entry to the following year for any reason (injury, unexpected calendar conflict, etc.). The deferred place can only be made to the following year once, and is only redeemable by the participant themselves and cannot be passed onto someone else. Entries deferred from the previous year cannot be refunded.

London Ballot

Going into the London Marathon ballot? We recommend you register for the adidas Manchester Marathon ASAP to secure a place (& the best value). If you are successful in your London ballot application, we will refund your full Manchester entry cost (minus booking fee) if you provide us with the relevant proof by Friday 6th September 2024. Those purchasing team or duo tickets will have the relevant portion of the fee refunded for that individual. Proof provided will need to show the successful London ballot application matches your name and DOB. We'll provide details of how to do this on our official website (ManchesterMarathon.co.uk) shortly before ballot results are released. Good luck!

If the participant is pregnant, at any point prior to the event, you may request to defer your entry one or two years, or you may request a refund of your entry fee. Please contact use directly to request either of these.
